Again... I have to say that I love those rich deep blues and reds together. The wire frame is a great object to have in your presentation. It explains a lot about your design and has a nice delicate look.
I'm not sure what happened with your layout... having everything crammed in the middle with a big white border around it is awkward. Even without the border things seem a little cramped. Maybe if you scaled everything down a bit and gave them a little more white-space to communicate.
If you have the time and the inclination, I think you should submit this to one of the lighting contests. I think it would be interesting to experiment with the materials of the shade element--if you would keep it as a solid, reflective material that directs the light forward, or if you were to use something sheer so that the light may also be diffused out the back. It's a very visually appealing design. I agree with Bish that the colors you choose are very striking. If this were to become a real luminaire, it would be interesting to see what impact the colors would have on the light, and what would happen to the light using materials of different color/texture. Nice job!
